Chintsa, “the little village with a big heart.”
Overlooking the Chintsa lagoon and bay, it is neatly nestled into the coastal dune and riverine forests of the area.
It serves as the southern gateway to the Wild Coast, famous for its unspoilt beaches, rich natural environment and rural lifestyle. Chintsa is 40km form East London, which has an airport, and also forms part of the Jikeleza Route, a coastal meander route between East London and the southern Wild Coast. Spend a morning traversing the Jikeleza and enjoy the shops, nurseries, restuarants and playgrounds.

Chintsa boasts an unspoilt coastline with incredible accommodation, from camping to luxury lodges, activities and adventures, restaurants and friendly pubs and a Big 5 coastal reserve coupled to a progressive community and positive atmosphere which places it high on the Wild Coast's 'secrets' list.
Long sandy beaches, vegetated dunes and undeveloped estuaries stretch to the east with a diverse rocky shore, interrupted only by the quaint little bays of Chintsa West and Queensberry Bay, to the west.
Monthly craft markets, horse riding on the beaches, surfing uncrowded waves, dining on the deck of Michaela’s overlooking the Indian Ocean or picnicking on the grass at the Country Bumpkin, visiting the elephant sanctuary or walking with rhinos, unless you prefer the serenity of a pure Wild Coast. This is just a taster of what you can get up to when you venture off the well trodden route.
"We look forward to seeing you in Chintsa"
